A Green Day

I have to give a virtual high five to all the golfers at the Waste Management Phoenix Open who wore green on Saturday.  Fans and players were encouraged to wear green to support the "green/eco-senesitive" efforts of the tournament.  I have to say KUDOS Waste Management Phoenix open.  I love the idea of getting the players and fan a like to participate in a "green out" that will help bring attention to a great initiative.  The Phoenix Open is a little over the top with the 16th hole and the stadium style seating, and the extreme crowds on the course.  This year is seeing the crazy shenanigans of the caddie races to the green.  So having a green day fits perfectly into the party fun time of the tournament.

I have to love Padraig Harrington's outfit.  Plus you have to love a guy from Ireland who decides to try out American Football on the 16th hole.  Green will never look bad on a Irishman.  Paddy loves his stripes and continues to rock the stripes whenever possible.  Paddy looked good with the navy blue pants that matched the thin blue strip of his polo.  Harrington is a player who you always find yourself routing, and after a couple of rough years it is nice to see Harrington on top of the leader board.  Harrington has not be a winner on the PGA or European Tour since winning the 2008 PGA Championship.  Harrington kicked Spalding footballs into the crowd on the 16th hole in honor of the official football of the Superbowl and one of Paddy's sponsors.
