All the big golf retailers for women's golf apparel are making them. On the left of the page is Nike's golf tights which you can purchase for the incredibly reasonable (eye roll here) price of $75. Looks like Nike says it is okay to wear tights on the golf course. They have the model in golf shoes and a golf glove looking like she is ready to hit the links for a round of golf this cold season. LPGA stars have them all over their Instagram. Michele Wie and Lexi Thompson are know to rock a pair of leggings on the course. Instagram star and true golf profession (double eye roll here) Paige Spiranac only wear spandex to play golf. Leggings are her go to outfit.
Alex Myers writes extremely bias, silly, and sexist article on golf tights. Check it out: http://www.golfdigest.com/story/today-in-questionable-golf-attire-spandex-leggings. Alex thinks: "...these are a bit too tight to wear on the golf course unless you're driving a beverage cart and looking for tips." Well you know woman who wears tights on the course are typically looking for one thing...tips (serious eye roll!). Yes Alex you hit the nail right on the head. I think retire from golf clothing articles.
I am not for or against golf leggings. I have a pair or two. However, I don't think I have ever worn my leggings without a skort over them. Put seriously, I think it is time for the game to group a little. Golf needs young and interested people in the game. The old stuffy line of clothing may not be what we need. I still think golf deserves a line of respect but leggings are not showing off what we don't know. Girls have leggings on probably have more clothes on than a lot of LPGA players and for sure Paige.
My final thought today. Lets expand golf and maybe to do that we need leggings.
