I also like to see what everyone else is wearing on the course. The best place to see what is going on in the golf fashion world is the professional tours.
I am going to lead you into the world of golf fashion or haut golf-ture. Friday-Monday, I will take a look at what the tour professional are wearing. What is good, what is not good, new trends, and trends that should be no where near a golf course. Tuesday-Thursday, I will look at some outfits, provide tips for fashion on and off the course.
Since it is Friday, lets take a look at the players are wearing on the course.
First, is Rory McIlroy. Busy off season chasing after tennis player girlfriend, dodging engagement rumors, and changing sponsors to Nike. Head to toe, putter to driver is Nike. Rory of old, or pre-Nike, stayed pretty subdued in golf scene that has been all about color. Always well tailored, with shirts cut to show of the arms he works so hard at in the gym, Rory looks like the classic gentlemanly golfer. With his Nike debut at Abu Dhabi, Rory's look has changed little. Actually you would assume he was still in Oakley, if it wasn't for the swoosh everywhere. I like Rory's golf style. He never is over the top or look at me with his clothes. His game speaks for him. Simple and clean is a great look for Rory.
Now I want to look at a golfer playing in the good ol' U.S. of A. Ryo Ishikawa is another young golf star. Not a big winner or name like Rory but he has time. The guy is only 21. Ryo's style is the complete opposite of Ryo. Just look at his shirt. Color and pattern is regularly a part of Ryo's outfit. However, he does color and pattern well. He never overwhelms with too much. Usually Ryo picks one statement piece in his outfit. He is able to balance this shirt with black pants and a white belt. Also like Rory, Ryo wears expertly tailored pieces. Ryo takes fashion risks as well as shots on the course. Being young and fit, Ryo does not wrong with his fashion choices.
